| Red Velvet from The Harvest - Pattisier and Chocolatier |
This is the very first a piece of cake (I mean it literally) that i ever bought. People have been talking about this cake and another one called Rainbow Cake for a while. So, I wonder, how delicious it must be.
The one that I bought in the picture is from The Harvest - Patissier and Chocolatier, which located in Pluit, North Jakarta, Indonesia.
At first, I was really curious about the taste. Since it's red, I thought it will taste like a strawberry (as you can see it also has a piece of strawberry as the topping) or other red fruit. But, it doesn't taste like any fruit at all. I guess the red in the name is achieved by red food coloring, none more or less.
Because I don't know what is the meaning of velvet, I can't really tell why did they named it that way.
For the taste itself, I don't think it has some special flavor or else. It's just a pure cream-layered red cake. But the texture of the cake is quite softer than other cake usually. I think people attracted to this just because of its beautiful color and dressing.
